with Mirro. Now, you can see every goal and key result. All transparent,
organized by departments, teams, or people.
You
can also align your colleagues
efforts to company goals and boost both
personal and group results.
You can find all in one place, by accessing the Objectives module.
Based
on the role which you have in the application, different objectives can be
added:
- A
basic user can add individual objectives
- A
team leader user can add individual objectives and team
objectives
- A department's coordinator user
can add department, team and individual
objectives
- An
user with the access right - goals management - can add and edit objectives at all levels, including organisation objectives.
To
add an objective, you will need to access the Objectives module
and access the option Add objective, available in any section of the module.
A
new form will be opened for you and you will need to fill-in the details of the
objective which you would like to add.
Imagine
you would like to add a company objective to ensure an efficient level of high
communication within the company. In this regards you will need to fill-in in
the fields accordingly:
- Title: A short concise title to state the objective
- Description: A short description of the objective
- Type: Objective’s type, which can be individual,
team, department or company
- Owner: The person which owns the objective. By
default your user will be assigned, but you have the possibility to change it
- Deadline: The deadline of the objective, the moment
when you consider you will reach your goal
When defining the objective you will be able to define the objective alignment as well, to make sure that your work has direct impact. For example, the organisational objective can be parent for a smaller one, a team objective.
After
filling-in the fields, you will have the possibility to save the information
and the objective will be listed in the proper category. This objective will be
listed in the Alignment section.
After
saving the changes, you will be brought to the details of the objective to
finish the process. In this section, you have the possibility to:
2.1. Visualize and edit the objective's details;
2.2. To add contributors ensuring a team work effort;
2.3. Define and update the key
results of the objective;
2.4. To visualize and edit alignment objective;
2.5. To visualize the updates history of the objective and key results.
2.1. Visualize and edit the objective's details:
With Mirro is easy to keep an eye on the progress of the objective and even more easier to decide if an objective has been reached or if it should be killed. From the objective page you will be able to send a nudge to the participants and to make any changes about the fields which you initially defined.
2.2. Add a contributor to the objective
An objective can have from 2 to 5 key
results which will help you to reach your goal.
Key results should focus on the outcome while being measurable with a concrete time schedule.
Set accurate expectations - define better Key Results using custom measurement units and values, as
well as automated Objective score update, by filling-in the following
information:
- Title: A short concise title to state the key result
- Description: A short description of the key result
- Deadline: The deadline of the key result, the moment when you consider you will finish
your key result
- Unit: The measurement unit of your key result. You
have the freedom to choose any measurement unit which you consider suitable for
you key result. You just need to type-in the measurement unit and you are good
to go.
- Start value and end value: The values which will help you to measure
better your key result. The values will be used to calculate the score of the
key result.
For the
objective previously added, let’s imagine that one of the key result is to organize
20 workshops until a specific date for your company. The focus of
the workshops will be on how to develop a better communication within the
departments.
After filling-in the details of the key result, you will need
to save the changes to be reflected in the application.
When the key result will be saved, it will be listed in the
details of the objective. Once a key result has been added to the objective, the
progress of the objective can be completed only through the key result. To
update the progress of the objective, you will need to access the option Update.
A new section will be opened to allow you to update the
progress of the key result:
- Current value: You will be able to add the current value of the progress. Between the
brackets it is listed the value proposed for the key result
- Comment (mandatory): You can make additional observations regarding the progress
of the key result – by congratulating your colleagues of the achievement.
- Show this change on My Mirro and on contributors’ profile: You have the possibility to select
if this progress will be posted on the feed to be seen by user, no matter the
role of the user.
After updating the key result progress, the changes will be listed in the objective details and in the feed if you selected to show them. Both the progress bar of the key result and of the objective will be adjusted accordingly. If you have multiple key results, the objective progress bar will be modified based on all the key results linked.
Align OKRs easier than ever - set parent or derived OKRs,
linking your productivity metrics to one another. Cross-organization linking is
possible, to allow for full flexibility.
You can align the objectives by adding parent or child
objectives to the current objective. If you would like to align a parent
objective, the new objective should be equal or bigger in the category than the
initial one. If you would like to align a child objective, the new objective
should be equal or lower in category than the initial one.
For example, the communication objective derives from a different organizational objective - the retention objective. In the same time, the communication objective can be set as
parent for another objective, such as a team goal:
After adding the parent / child okr’s, the changes will be
reflected in the objective’s details giving you the possibility to see the alignment in the objective page or in the alignment overview section:
While being in the alignment chart, you can also access the Expand
option to see the details of the other objectives which are linked with
your current objective. For example, the objective, Increasing the employee
retention by 2%, can be expanded because it is included in another
alignment as well.
2.5. Keep track of the OKR history
Specific updates history to share with everyone - never skip a beat about what happened with an OKR. How each update impacted the overall result, how you guys worked together, all history in the objective updates section.
You will be able to interact with each update or change, by enjoying the post, leaving a comment or sharing with the others to celebrate together the progress achieved.
